I seem to remember our ‘commitment’ was sort of ‘restricted’ to covering Britains ‘responsibilities’ in NATO etal - So they could ‘free up’ their own personnel.
Something about the ‘Magna Carta’ had South America ‘upset’.

I think we helped with logistics, fuel and Sidwinder missiles, among other things. Under the table mostly.
