Too late already ..... IMO.
After Ted is mathematical eliminated from the 1237 for the nomination which could be after the 4/19 New York primary, Trump should take to the microphone and ask Cruz to quit. He can stress that Ted has no path to 1237 and for the good of the party and the country, he should suspend so all forces can focus on Hillary Clinton.

What? Trump has no control over New York government’s “disastrous policies”, he’s not a part of government. He “bankrolled” New York government? You mean he paid taxes?

I agree with you. I am not an automatic rubber stamp regarding Trump’s positions, however in contrast to the other establishment candidates, Trump is not beholden to the Party, the big money donors, or the Cheap Labor Express which is why he has such massive support throughout our Land.
He could use Obama excuse after the GOP wins in 2014. Ted will speaking for all the people who didn’t vote in the GOP primaries.
What kind of cooperation will Trump get?
Believe me, the establishment will be so glad to avoid the Trump bullet, they will give Cruz what he wants.
I think this is his Dominionism talking. In that sense he has got a principle. It’s a wrong one IMHO.
