NEW YORK Texas Sen. Ted Cruz cr97% claimed that if nobody manages to earn the needed 1,237 delegates prior to the Republican National Convention, he will win the nomination one way or the other at the convention. Cruz rallied supporters at the Womens National Republican Club in midtown Manhattan Wednesday afternoon in an effort to win over New York voters. Although the Texas Republican received cheers for the shots he took at New York Democrats, he was later asked by reporters how he could possibly smooth over relations with Empire State residents after describing Donald Trump as having New York values at a debate last month.
Coming from New York, you all have seen first-hand the disasters that come from liberal democratic policies that are foisted on the people of New York. And Donald Trump over and over again has been supporting Andrew Cuomo and Hillary Clinton and Anthony Weiner and Eliot Spitzer and Charlie Rangel, Cruz told his supporters.
So next time you think about all the disastrous policies that have been foisted on the people of New York, you can thank Donald Trump for bankrolling those efforts, he said, later noting that the New York primary, a contest of 95 delegates, is a battleground state for him and that he plans to compete here vigorously.

Well I won’t argue that Trumps a man of changes......without a foundation he could be nothing else. And no doubt he would “change” in the office of President....he’s already told his supporters THEY have to be flexible, which basically means he’ll do what he wants and you will have to adjust regardless......even though he doesn’t know what he’s going to do himself. So nobody knows what Trump will or won’t do....
I prefer a man who has been steady and consistent....who we know what to expect....who stands for things important to me and my families future. Who we know what he believes, what he’s done and what he intends to do. ...and a history of proving he is what he says.
So go ahead a vote for Trump.....not knowing what you’ll get but surely will play in the court of the Demorats and Liberals as he has stated that he will.
I don’t believe that his motives are patriotic. I think that he is fueled by a desire for total control (dominion). Imho, he wants to be more than man.
I see it that way as well.
Please tell me that Brilliant Ted, Harvard Law graduate, who argued nine cases in front of the Supreme Court isn’t trusting the GOP establishment on the convention. Please? If this goes to a second ballot, I cannot imagine that either Trump or Cruz will have a fair shot. Trump is the only one with deep enough pockets to balance the insider sleaze with outsider cash (yes, I think Trump would do that, and I would not mind if that was his response to the party leadership manipulating delegates).
Jeb Cruz...
That was a terrible book.
Even if technically brokered, the GOP would be stupid to refuse someone with as broad a reach as Donald. Lifetime Democrats are heading towards the GOP now, for Donald’s sake.
The polls of Hillary vs. Donald are on a tabula rasa basis. The Alpha Dog has not begun to really tangle with the Cat. Once he does, most of the fur that flies won’t be the Dog’s. Donald has done a lot of incongruous things, but nothing that comes close to the level of a Benghazi.
“Fate” seems to be speaking; the problem is that what it has to say is insulting a lot of entrenched egos and prides.
Well your theoretical darling more and more looks like it won’t be Cruz, if it’s anybody.
I’d boldly suggest the actual Jesus Christ.
If what we see here on FR is what occurs on the floor at the National Convention, then the GOPE wins and will issue a “unity candidate” on a third ballot.
According to polls over the past 2 days, 57%% of Republicans support the leading candidate with the majority of delegates going into the convention as their nominee.
The minority of Republicans prefer the rules, (allowing for the ballot games and gavel tricks).
That may look good to floor delegates after hours and hours of mortal combat trying to reach 1237.
A “unity” candidate restores the Establishment forces and the top down DC UniParty, loses the base entirely, hands between Obama and Hillary, sixteen years of Democrat rule.
I believe we are done now. Think what is coming with that scenario.
Cruz is just as delusional as his buddy Beck. Even if Trump is not the nominee, it won’t be Cruz and if Cruz thinks it will be than he is dumber than a brick.
Romney believed he was anointed to win as well - interesting both of them have had the Mormon White Horse prophecy applied to them. Both are wrong.
I’m not sure about Kasich, I think close to the election one of the ‘suspended’ campaigns (probably Jeb) will reactivate.
And... I still think that Donald has at least a vague vision of what is going to sell well in America. Call him Machiavellian and amoral, I don’t think we can call him stupid.
We’d probably get a pretty good mirror of We The People. If that mirror shows ugly things... it won’t really be Donald’s fault. But it will probably still be more beautiful than what we’ve had since after Reagan.
But the US Constitution is not divinely inspired - that is Mormon doctrine, not biblical doctrine.
And Obama isn’t running so do you think Trump considers it a roadblock?
That too.
Probably thinks the Man Upstairs is going to punch out his foes.
I can ruefully testify to having made the very same error myself. The world doesn’t really understand God or divine intervention, and making a comment like that, even if it were TRUE... is going to get you viewed like you were one of the 9/11 building bombers! I lost a job over this (though to be fair, there was a spring in my step as I went to the personnel office, my sense was more “Good Riddance” than “Well what am I going to do now.”) Cruz may end up solving the problem of Cruz by getting himself kicked out.
No the establishment won’t give a Pres. Cruz what he wants, why should they? Pres. Cruz will do their bidding, he’s bought and paid for, they own him.
LOL! Remember that BullObama?
He had a REAL good chance of getting curbstomped, like he did...
nope...aint gonna happen.
