MAR 23 2016 Marvel, Disney Threaten Film Boycott Over Georgia Bill
LOS ANGELES The Walt Disney Co. and Marvel Studios stated their opposition to a Georgia "religious liberty" bill pending before Gov. Nathan Deal, saying that they will take their business elsewhere "should any legislation allowing discriminatory practices be signed into state law."
With generous tax incentives, Georgia has become a production hub, with Marvel currently shooting "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" at Pinewood Studios outside Atlanta. "Captain America: Civil War" shot there last summer.
"Disney and Marvel are inclusive companies, and although we have had great experiences filming in Georgia, we will plan to take our business elsewhere should any legislation allowing discriminatory practices be signed into state law," a Disney spokesman said on Wednesday.

On Monday, an MPAA official called the pending legislation "discriminatory," but expressed confidence that Deal would not sign it.
"We are confident that Governor Deal will not allow a discriminatory bill to become law in Georgia," said Vans Stevenson, MPAA senior vice president of state government affairs.
The legislation has spurred opposition from business groups in the state, who fear it will trigger the kind of backlash that forced Indiana to reconsider its religious liberty legislation that passed last summer.
On Saturday, Human Rights Campaign president Chad Griffin urged studios and production companies to refuse to commit to any further productions in Georgia if Deal does not veto the legislation.

Why should the state of Georgia allow itself to be bullied by those who dislike the first amendment?
Go back and shoot your pictures in high tax California.
Okay.
PATHETIC
Don’t let the door hit you in the arse on the way out.
BUH-BYE..!!!
Well, good riddance. I certainly wouldn’t want these perverts and their pro-homo, pro-pedophile corporations and their degenerate employees in my state to begin with. Heck, burn the homo-fascist bastards out!
I used to spend about 5 G’s a year at Disney but between this and the firing American IT workers they can go get F**c##d.
Last time I was there it was unbelievable, thousands of fat loser morons with REALLY BAD tattoos that were obviously spending their IRS “refunds” (they don’t pay taxes in the first place).
This is all about the productive class funding vacations to Disney for the welfare class.
Disney owns ESPN which unleashes gay propaganda (Michael Sam) all the time.
Exactly. GLWTFBT rights and religious freedom for orthodox Christian believers cannot coexist.
ESPN also failed to mention that none of the audience at Obama’s fun day at the ballgame are free to leave their prison country.
Furthermore, these are the scumbag corporations who are doing everything they can to persecute Christians and force people to participate in their deviant ceremonies. Total fascist cretins, no better than strongarm Soviet enforcers, enslaving their populace. They deserve nothing but the same grisly fate of all vanquished despots.
Purchase long term food and bullets. As for the rest of your cash, Chic-Fil-A biscuits work.
F*** them. I think the world would be a better place if the populace wasn't indulging their fantasy crap anyways. I wish all of Hollywood would boycott all of America.
If people weren't watching their crap they would probably find more beneficial things to do for themselves.
Georgia should immediately respond by pulling any incentives they give to Disney, and giving them instead to other filmmakers.
Next it should figure out if there is a way to slap additional taxes on Disney goods and services. Disney owns and operates the ABC broadcast television network; cable television networks such as Disney Channel, ESPN, A+E Networks, and ABC Family; publishing, merchandising, music, and theater divisions.
And Georgia should rub salt in it, but earmarking that any money gained be used to support American Disney workers who were replaced with foreign workers. Maybe even hiring such workers to oversee the Disney taxes.
This kind of legislation was dead in Georgia until it suddenly passed last week.
I think it passed literally as a reaction to the March 1st primary results where the corporatist backed candidate, Rubio was the big loser and Donald Trump the big winner with Ted Cruz finishing second.
The GOPe is desperate to reconnect with the base and I hope Governor Deal signs the bill and Ted Cruz demands he do so along with Donald Trump.
Faggies rule!!! That’s the perv Disneywood message.
I’ll stick with Chick Fil-A and please to note my tagline.
The self-important socialist homo loving eliteists are at it again
