I went to HS in South Dakota ans never heard of Grand Forks. It happens.
And my follow-up comment was that I am old and they still taught geography when I was in grade school. That's not a knock on the lack of knowledge, but a knock on modern education.

Maybe so, but you did not answer the question. Easy to take that the wrong way. You could have just said "North Dakota" instead.
I, too, had geography in school, probably about the time you did. And after this long I've forgotten a lot, like others.
