To: Opinionated Blowhard

Before passage of Obamacare, every single US Catholic Bishop, that’s every single one, signed a letter demanding that the abortion and birth control mandate be removed. And if not remove, not be approved.

Then in the 2012 election, US bishops drafted a letter, to be read at every parish, and published a pamphlet, that no Catholic in good conscious can vote for a pro abortion and pro-birth control politician. Show me a mainline Church that did something similar.

The Bishops have fought in court the mandate and some have said they will close Cathoilic healthcare facilities because they can not be forced to deny their faith.

True the Bishops believe in universal healthcare for Americns, they just don’t believe healthcare should be used to kill some of them.

That is the disconnect, I believe. The Bishops deliver one message, and those lower in the hierarchy, and more available, give a different one.
