No security. Not appalling. Telling.
I sure wouldn’t want to go to a security job at an airport like a sitting duck. No doubt the number of security guards will be reduced to less than bare minimum, all it adds is to the body count. It’s all theater anyway, unless you
have some non-muslim guards with full auto keeping watch and inspect every single crate that gets into the secured area.

Will be no surprise to me when they hit LAX ( again only with more people or explosives or an rpg), Atlanta or Miami. or JFK in a bigger way.

I agree with you absolutely. Actually, there were plenty of staff with big badges, actively helping if you looked lost, but no real security if you know what I mean. It is impossible to be 100% protected but just a couple of guards, fully armed, in the right place, would be a big deterrent. Heck, you could have driven a bus load of attackers right in.

There are social media reports now that say firearms and more bomb belts have been recovered from the airport; and video in the immediate aftermath show fully-armed soldiers on scene within seconds. I’m going to predict that this attack didn’t go totally to plan and likely the airport security prevented something even worse.
