Cruz has accepted the backing and money of Neil Bush—we are back where we started.
I'm not sure where “we” started but I will say: Cruz wants Jeb Bush voters. And Kasich voters. And Rubio voters. And the supporters of Carson,Gilmore, Christie, Fiorina, Santorum, Paul, Huckabee, Pataki, Graham, Jindal, Walker, and Perry.
And, yes, Cruz wants to get the support of Trump voters and Clinton voters and Sanders voters. That's just the way politics works but a constitutional conservative will not compromise principles and give donations to the Clintons to get her support or the support of Clinton voters.
If Trump secures the nomination, he will be going hard for the support of Cruz and the Cruz voters - at least until he is assured of 50 percent of the vote plus one. Plus still more to be able to claim a “mandate.”
And that is the way it works for Cruz. And for Trump.
