Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump says hes planning to release a list of judges that he would select from to fill Supreme Court vacancies if hes elected president in an effort to ease concerns about his picks.
I am going to give a list of either five or 10 judges that I will pick, 100 percent pick, that I will put in for nomination. Because some of the people that are against me say: We dont know if hes going to pick the right judge. Supposing he picks a liberal judge or supposing he picks a pro-choice judge, Trump told a local gathering of Republicans in Palm Beach, Florida Sunday night.
He says the list would include judges that everybody respects, likes and totally admires great conservative judges, great intellects, the people that you want.

Cruz is not, and will never be, a judge, because . . . ?
Cruz argued nine cases in front of the Supreme Court in his role as Texas solicitor general. I’ve read his arguments, and he has a good, conservative, originalist legal mind. How many better picks can you name? [Trump will have to choose three or four for the Supreme Court, and I’d like to see Cruz as the first among those.]
He is going to send them looking for the submarine races. Give them something they think is important to do, and it distracts them from what is important. I doubt that whatever names he gives them are the ones he will seriously consider, its a shell game, and they will swallow it hook, line, and sinker.
And he knows none of them.
Really? You have great insider connections.
What scraps, they haven't thrown me a scrap in decades.
True there is no way the dem and GOPe senate would confirm him. Its not even rational to consider it and I am a Cruz supporter.
Isn’t this somehow illegal? I thought for some reason that candidates could not promise appointments before elections. I know it sounds stupid but pretty sure I remember this correctly. Somebody set me straight.
Did Trump ever put out the list of judges he’d consider for SCOTUS?
