I guess Reagan was a progressive in 1980.

Reagan was popular, but he was not a populist - he was a conservative.

That is the definition of populist, being popular. And in 1980 Reagan didn’t run on a strict conservative platform.

I would urge you to take a real look at Reagan’s record, he was not really any conservative.

The Myth is looked at as the truth rather the reality.
