“in an effort to prevent the current front-runner, Donald Trump, from hijacking the party’s nomination.”

Could Newsweak kindly explain how it is that when the most number of GOP voters vote for the candidate they prefer that’s considered a “hijacking”? Is it Trump doing the hijacking? Or is it the voters? And if it’s the voters, then how can the voters “hijack” their own party?

Unless of course, it isn’t ACTUALLY the voters’ party, right? If the party itself consists only of the rich aristocracy, and it’s all a sham that the “voters” have anything to do with the party other than to obey what their “betters” order.

Too many putting the cart ahead of the horse...and we know who the race horse is. 1237+ in the bag. End of story. (just my unbiased opinion).

How would we know the difference??? LOL, how hysterical the antiTrump crowd is. It isn’t even a close race and yet they think they can make the people turn away from Trump and his movement? I don’t believe that they are that stupid.

If the GOP establishment had really wanted to support Cruz, they would’ve talked Rubio out of running in Florida.

Florida was a “winner take all” where Rubio had very little support. Voters for Rubio hurt Cruz, not Trump. Face it, the GOP wants Trump to win, not Cruz.

They still haven’t figured out that their support is a negative. Amazing lack of self awareness.

Gee, Cruz is an outsider and the most unpopular man in Washington. But all the Washington GOP support him.

Gee, Lindsey Graham says terrible things about Cruz and Lindsey Graham says he supports him.

Gee, Cruz is independent and an outsider and he’s controlled by Glenn Beck and his money men.

They are only supporting Cruz to weaken Trump. They will never support Cruz.

I doubt that Cruz can beat Hitler-y. I think TRUMP can
beat her; because he is simply not intimidated by Her
Hineyness.

MSM is ignoring Cruz as best it can. Nothing about the UT rally will be widely broadcast. So no worries about that.

The MSM desperately wants Trump, they are giving him millions of free media and treating him with semi-soft hands.

That should tell us something. The barrage that will come from the democrats and the turn of the MSM will take will snap our necks in July.

Why would the leftist cabal promote a candidate if they don’t believe will loose against Hillary? Wouldn’t happen if they saw hard data showing Trump beating Hillary.

The MSM is more scared of Cruz.

Cruz is smarter by half. He’s keeping his enemies closer.

One can assume that some of the delegates who Cruz won early are disgusted by now and if there’s more than one ballot would go to Trump.

”… , from hijacking the party's nomination."

Patriots, please note that not only does the Constitution not say anything about political parties, but the Constitution’s presidential election process as described in Clauses 2 & 3 of Section 1 of Article II, show that the state legislators, not national political parties, uniquely have the power to appoint electors, the electors having the power, with specific limitations, to vote for president.

”Article II, Section 1, Clause 2: Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors, equal to the whole Number of Senators and Representatives to which the State may be entitled in the Congress: but no Senator or Representative, or Person holding an Office of Trust or Profit under the United States, shall be appointed an Elector.

Article II, Section 1, Clause 3: The Electors shall meet in their respective States, and vote by Ballot for two Persons, of whom one at least shall not be an Inhabitant of the same State with themselves. ..."

So patriots need to have a little talk with their state lawmakers who have evidently sold out to the political parties.

Also bear in mind that the corrupt Washington cartel probably has no intention of surrending 10th Amendment-protected state powers that it has been stealing from the states since the end of the Civil War back to the states. In other words, the “made in Hollywood” presidential nomination process that we are forced to go through every four years is nothing more than a dog-and-pony show to keep the Washington cartel in power imo.

Bingo! The GOPe is pulling off the biggest hoax ever. No president, I repeat, no president can build a federal wall without congressionally budgeted funds. Trump is as hawkish as any neo con, and will vote for any budget with tax breaks; so would Cruz. What Cruz wouldn’t do is give lip service to the pro life movement, orfavor “assault weapon” bans, or reach across the aisle to compromise on isues like climate change, or support gay marriage. The GOPe get their pro business candidate, who as an added bonus, get someone with the financial security to tell the media and PC police all the things they lacked the balls to say, without all those messy social issues like PP funding and gay marriage.

They will “flirt” awhile and then throw in enough (weak and late) support to allow them to blame either loss (to Trump now &/or the Dems in November) on Cruz instead of themselves.

Disagree - if it was 2 man race starting out on March first, it’s likely Cruz and Trump would be close to tied in the delegate count at this point and it would be different dynamic going forward.

How would that equate to the voters just want Trump?

...in an effort to prevent the current front-runner, Donald Trump, from hijacking the party's nomination.

Um...since when does getting more votes than the other fellow constitute hijacking? Yesterday the Washington Post claimed it was "denying democracy". What on earth are these people smoking?
