I would think the opposite is true.
The US & UK have a long history of standing on the same side in disputes. The US & the rest of Europe do not.
What is vital for US security is for McCain to get beat in the next upcoming Arizona Republican senatorial primary and be retired to catch the front end of the next anger management therapy class.

I think the presidential primary for Az is next Tuesday but we have the senatorial primary later on August 30 and I will be voting for whatever alternative there is to McCain, probably Ward.
Britain would have to do 90% of the work for the US and then the US would come in at the 11 hour and save the day...!!

EU was the Clinton/Albright invention attempting to give the US the backseat in the world economy. Remember the USSR was broken, China was not yet out of the closet, and they thought American interests were too big for their britches. They felt only one world power (US) was not good and so they caused the EU into being. It is set up so that the nation/states are subservient to the national power (EU). That is the Clinton/Albright view of how it should be in the US - how they would change the constitution.
