Well if you live outside the “salt belt” you can pretty much go on forever with a rig, as long as you are willing to do the upkeep.

Just saw a good looking Roadmaster wagon over the weekend in a Costco lot. Rear license plate was Indiana: BURN GAS and front was Roadmaster Yacht Club.

They actually can get 25mpg highway. Even with the LT1 engine. That engine is sweet for passing trucks on a North Dakota highway. It WANTS to go fast.

Our son got an early inheritance of our OJ Simpson Bronco, the last model year. He is an avid bike rider and doesn’t put that much mileage on the Bronco. There is an excellent Ford dealer where he lives, and the guy in charge of the repair area, told my son the same thing and to never sell it. Just change the oil and new tires every 4-5 years regardless of the tread.

When our kids were teenagers decades ago, I bought a 70 Blazer, it outlasted them. Our oldest son inherited it and had a bidding auction party in our driveway. He sold it to a Hispanic male nurse, I knew and invited to the auction. He had 3 teen sons. It lasted through all of them. The youngest one now owns it. He is a manager and in an auto parts store, and he drives it to work everyday.

It still looks great with the Cal Trans Orange. I got it at a Cal Trans used vehicle auction.
