The fight for Utah's 40 Republican delegates looks like a three-man race between Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio and Donald Trump.
-snip-
Among Utah Republicans, Rubio is tops with 24%, Cruz has 22%, and Trump is at 18%. 11% say they are undecided.
The survey was taken after the New Hampshire primary, which Trump won decisively, but before Saturday's South Carolina primary, which Trump also won.
The contest in Utah gains added importance after the Republican National Committee announced on Saturday they would hold a presidential debate in Utah on March 21, the day before Utah's caucus. Arizona hosts their presidential primary on the same day Utah votes. Arizona has 58 delegates up for grabs.
Jeb Bush picked up 10% support in our survey (9% among Republicans), but he ended his campaign on Saturday night following disappointing showings in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina. Couple his support with the 15% who are undecided right now, and that could be enough to tip the scales toward one candidate.
Utah Republicans are holding a presidential caucus this year for the first time. The party's 40 delegates will be awarded proportionally. Candidates have to reach 15% support to earn delegates.
Cruz dominates among Utahns who describe themselves as "very conservative," pulling 41% in that group, while Rubio gets 18% and Trump has 15%.
However, among those who say they are "somewhat conservative," Rubio is the leader with 22%. Cruz and Trump are tied with 17% support.
Moderates were split between Rubio and Bush. Rubio got 19% support and Bush had 16%. Now that Bush is out of the race, it remains to be seen where his support migrates.

So why post it?
Wotta waste of space.
Some of the nevertrump people have been boasting about the 1 state of Utah not as excited about Trump’s immigration plan and tough guy persona.
It would be consistent with the Cruz pattern. Winning Caucus, closed primaries and safe red states in the west.
Anyone got a Colorado poll?
Old poll still shows Bishop Romney doesn’t totally dominate for Cruz, and since the delegates are proportional it could be split......perhaps 18-18-4
It’s wrong. Utah people want Trump almost exclusively. Polls are wrong again.
This is it! Trump’s poll numbers will tank now, I tell ya!
Still, Cruz is going to win UT.
Its next door to ID and he should do well there.
Surprisingly, Cruz has emerged as the strong guy to watch in the Great Plains and Mountain states.
He’s already won IA, TX, OK, KS, ID, WY and now looks set to add UT to his win column.
CO will go Cruz.
I don’t see my state excited by Trump.
Sorry, but for this Utahan, Trump is Tops!
I thought same thing about Georgia, only knew 1 trump supporter, rest of the 20 or so people were mostly Cruz, few Rubio. But these are all folks from church.
Trump won big in Georgia.
Sanders leading among both Democrats in Utah.
Colorado went the way of Wyoming. No general caucus straw polls this year. They CO repub party bosses will likely give 90% or more of the 37 delegates 90% to Cruz and/or Kasich on April 9th. The CO GOPee is calling the shots. It won’t make much of a difference - only be a small bump in the road for Trump.
Has Orrin Grant Hatch endorsed his fellow PA native, Kasich?
Yup.
This CO Republican didn’t get a vote back in February here.
Party insiders in Denver had the votes.
If Trump campaigns in Utah tomorrow, it’s going to give him a big bump vs. Cruz. Trump will finish 2nd and get a good number of delegates. Kasich will be 3rd and might not even make the threshold for delegates.

We’ll see, but just like much of the nation, I think it’s safe to say, many Utahans are also disgusted by Cruz, and will not vote for him in the primary. Conventional wisdom said Cruz should’ve won NC and other states; he didn’t. Utah is up for grabs.
Romney will be pulling for Cruz there ...
Not if Cruz tops 50%. That would be a done deal if Romeny weren’t out there pimping for Kasich. Hopefully, it won’t be enough to deny Cruz the 50% plus one he has earned.
BTW, where did you get the weird idea that Romeny was campaigning for Cruz in Utah? Not true, you see.
But the well liked and respected Senator Mike Lee is helping Cruz.
Maybe you need to subscribe to a newspaper. Romeny is campaigning in Utah for KASICH.
