Okay, I haven’t lived near there in nearly 20 years, but isn’t there a “no-man’s zone” near the border where ranchers can’t even go onto their own property? Maybe I’m wrong, but... ???

I visited the San Pedro valley which leads north from Mexico. a year and a half go. There were signs warning not to approach "strangers" if encountered.

Actually, there is an official, government posted no go zone on the border due to dangerous criminals coming across the border
