Perhaps I read too many crime fiction novels, but I do wonder at all the hidden aspects of this story. It is surprising that the mystery witness, who saved Todd, has not come forward.

Yes. The Palins of course can dance with whomever they wish as they aren’t public officials at this point, however it would be nice to know who it was, and if perhaps it was a riding partner as Todd Palin from past reading is adamant about riding with a partner be it family, friends, etc.

Seems to me the “mysterious” person that found Todd might have been someone riding with him they don’t want known for whatever reason. It’s their call, but has aroused curiosity.
