Ted Cruz said that he won't humble himself before Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to smooth over the rough relationship he has developed with colleagues.
"[Cruz] tells me he won't go 'on bended knee, with my hat in hand' to Mitch McConnell to unify GOP against [Trump]," FOX News's James Rosen tweeted Wednesday morning.
CNN published a report Tuesday quoting Sens. John Cornyn, John Thune and Orrin Hatch as saying that Cruz should work to repair his Senate ties, and that he has work to do to earn the goodwill of his cohorts.
"I think he's got some bridges to build here," said Sen. John Thune, the No. 3 Senate Republican. "I think it would be helpful obviously for him -- if he thinks he is going to be the guy or wants to be the guy -- to come back here to mend some of those fences that he tore down when he was here."
"That was not proper as you know, and I raised hell about it," Sen. Orrin Hatch of Utah, the longest-serving Senate Republican, said of Cruz's criticism of McConnell. "I'm a great believer of repentance and changing, and I think there's a gradual change there that I'm noticing, which is good."
Hatch also had this to say of Cruz: "It's always helpful when you admit you're wrong." Cruz has rankled his fellow senators with his behavior and procedural tactics, prominently during a funding battle over Obamacare in 2013. But his most pointed disagreement with McConnell came last summer, when Cruz all but called the majority leader a liar from the Senate floor. Such antagonism has created a wide rift between the Texas senator, who prides himself on his opposition to "the Washington cartel", and Senate Republicans.
While Cruz might not have mended fences with the Senate GOP just yet, he lauded the man who was viewed as the party establishment's standardbearer, Sen. Marco Rubio, Tuesday night.
"Marco's story, his passion, inspires me. Marco can paint a picture, can weave a tapestry of the promise of America like no one else. And his presidential campaign inspired millions," Cruz said. "To those who supported Marco, who worked so hard, we welcome you with open arms."
Lol ! I screwed the pooch on that one . The trumpster I was posting to didn’t catch it , TG .
Can I blame it on my iPhone :-)
“Ted Cruz said that he won’t humble himself before Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to smooth over the rough relationship he has developed with colleagues.”
Except that HE ALREADY DID line up with the GOPe, once he came out in support of the Disrupters that canceled Trump’s Chicago.
VERY BAD move by Cruz, probably cost him a couple of states last night.
Ive mentioned Im a Cruz guy numerous times but would support Trump if hes the nominee.. havent heard one of them say the same for Cruz.
I’ll say it. I support Cruz 100% if he should win. Anyone who doesn’t ought to turn their guns in to clinton
There, there, the nurse will be ‘round soon with your jello.
Yes good point. Isn't it amazing that Robert Mercer found a way to do business without giving to Democrats. In fact unlike Trump, all of Mercer's donations are to advance conservatism.
Mercer funds Brietbart.com and the Heritage Foundation.
He thinks global warming is a hoax.
He thinks medicine in this country is being controlled by the "medical industrial complex".
He's published a book critical of Hillary Clinton.
He bank rolled a documentary about Ayn Rand (well nobody is perfert).
He's pro life, he's opposed to gay marriage and he hates establishment Republicans.
He donated to a pro death penalty campaign in Nebraska and he funded ads critical of the ground zero mosque in NYC.
He funds anti abortion groups and a Christian College.
He funds activist Fred Kelly Grant who travels the country encouraging legal challenges to environmental laws, which he says are part of a sinister plot by the United Nations to depopulate rural America.
He thinks the government monetary and banking system is too controlled by the federal government.
He financed the Jackson Hole Summit last year that advocates a real gold standard.
And he gave more than 10 million to a pro evangelical, pro energy, and anti illegal immigration Ted Cruz super Pac controlled by staunch anti immigration evangelical David Barton.
Trump's response blaming Pam Geller, when jihadists tried to kill her and a bunch of people was even worse.
Cruz didn't support the disruptors.
Why because I’m telling the truth. That’s the problem with the last few Cruz supporters left around here. You can’t debate so you throw useless insults. Funny thing is you wonder why Cruz only won 3 primaries and a handful of caucus’. He lost 5 states last night. Perhaps you need to ask yourself why voters are not interested in Cruz.
ted has already kissed the ring who is he tryin to kid
Blaming Trump, EVEN PARTIALLY is supporting the Disrupters.
Trump PAID FOR THAT VENUE, and providing he’s not there to incite violence, he has THE RIGHT to make a political speech without disruption.
Anything less saying JUST THAT is supporting the Disrupters. It’s NO DIFFERENT than the Palestinians being unable to condemn suicide bombers without, in part, blaming Israel for driving them to do it.
You need to UNDERSTAND that Cruz is human and he makes mistakes, and that was a WHOPPER. Since his positions are virtually identical to Trump (if not more conservative)...who will Cruz blame when that same high-organized mob starts shutting down his rallies, should Trump be out of the way?
Not when one blames the distruptors first and foremost.
You need to UNDERSTAND that Cruz is human and he makes mistakes, and that was a WHOPPER.
Stop it. Cruz was correct when he criticized the disruptors first and foremost. Cruz was incorrect when he criticized Trump on the same matter. I've said both things from the start.
You need to UNDERSTAND that Cruz is human and he makes mistakes, and that was a WHOPPER.
I undertand that perfectly.
Did you criticize Trump when Trump criticize Pam Geller, after she was attacked by jihadists?
“Did you criticize Trump when Trump criticize Pam Geller, after she was attacked by jihadists?”
Never defended him...and criticized him here.

Again - Cruz BLEW IT on the Disrupters. Trump blew it with Geller. It’s not that hard to admit the person we want is HUMAN...or it shouldn’t be.
I can’t debate because you keep on saying the same cr@p. The same lies.
And I don’t have to wonder why Cruz lost anything. Rubio especially stayed in the race too long. It happens every time there’s a split vote - we saw this 4 years ago when Santorum was starting to get traction and Newt hung on like a dog with a bone, which gave us Romney.
The thing that gets me is that you can’t even see that maybe, just maybe, ONE thing Cruz is accused of may not be true. It’s not a matter of your drinking the Trump kool aide that astounds me, but rather how much of it you drank in multiple flavors.
Because I see trump as a winner. You know the media tried to get him to apologize for the protesters and trump said no. Cruz would be grovling on the ground begging forgiveness and you know it. What bothers me most is that Cruz has not been vetted at all. He needs to be.
Ted called Donald's bluff brilliantly, and Donald slinked away quietly, silent now for nearly a month.
You just plain have to stand up to these bullies, like Ted Cruz ("Mr. 100% A.C.U.-rating") did--and will continue to do. Stay tuned.
First of all, there are the violent Trump devotees such as that man who hit the protester in the face, and then there are the "Occupy" type protesters who shut down the rally in Chicago. EVERYONE pointed a finger at Trump for those of his devotees who are out of control, because of statements Trump has made at his rallies that encourage physical responses towards protesters. That Trump made these statements is a FACT: they have been recorded and are easily available. NO ONE blamed Trump for the lefties in Chicago, and NO ONE was supportive of these lefties. And yet the LIE is repeated over and over again on FR that Cruz supported the lefties in Chicago. The FACTS are otherwise.
Cruz would be grovling on the ground begging forgiveness and you know it.
There is absolutely NOTHING, REPEAT: NUH THING, in this statement that corresponds with ANYTHING even REMOTELY associated with REALITY. Cruz won't even grovel and beg forgiveness of Mitch McConnell! lol
What bothers me most is that Cruz has not been vetted at all. He needs to be.
I've been vetting both Cruz and Rubio since their campaigns for their respective Senate seats. Where the hell have *you* been?
Because I see trump as a winner.
OH STOP THE WORLD AND SUSPEND REALITY! Napscoordinator sees Trump as a winner AND THEREFORE, everything baaaaad about Cruz MUST be true!
Well Tuesday Cruz lost all 6 elections. Coincidentally after his speech about Chicago. So you don’t think that’s a message to Cruz? Nobody has had a bigger disaster of a primary night then Cruz. Now Arizona is gone for Cruz (he admits it). NY he is barely over double digits. Trump went over 50 percent after Chicago. You just don’t see it yet.
I’ll tell you what I *do* see.
Rubio had what was truly a disaster of a primary night, and Trump lost Ohio.
The primary season is part of the process of selecting a presidential candidate, and that process should continue to play out, especially since we’re down to two serious contenders, Trump and Cruz.
It appears to be the case that Trump is indeed a winner as long as falsehoods are promulgated against Cruz. If Trump is such a winner in and of himself why are falsehoods against Cruz still promulgated? Indeed, why would they ever have been necessary in the first place?
It appears to be the case that you prefer to fit the facts, reality, the truth around your emotions, rather than evaluate them on their own terms. Or maybe reality isn’t a priority for you. Only you can say.
