SALT LAKE CITY The GOP presidential primary debate scheduled for Monday has been canceled, a representative for the Salt Palace Convention Center confirmed Wednesday.
The debate was canceled following Donald Trumps announcement that he wouldnt be attending and a subsequent announcement from the campaign strategist for Gov. John Kasich that he wouldnt attend without Trump.
VERY smart on Trump’s part: winners don’t debate losers; not to mention, it’s time to start debating Hillary and quit making a spectacle of GOP candidates tearing each other apart.
Especially since one of the 3 still in the race has zero chance of getting the nomination. Kasich should drop out.
If I was in charge, there would be 3 debates for primary season, first week of Jan, Feb, and March. Nobody under 5% in a compendium of polls gets in. And the first 10 primary / caucus would be states that had voted for the party in the previous POTUS election.

Sounds like a FINE plan!
“Kasich should drop out. “
It’s significantly to Trump’s advantage for Kasich to stay in and split the non-Trump vote in winner-take-all states.
Yep, gotta love the GOPe. They can't ever figure out how to do the right thing and keep m shooting themselves in the foot - it's a beautiful thing and I relish the moment the GOPe is declared dead.
It would’ve been the world’s longest snooze-fest without Trump.
Trump should troll them and ask for Corey Lewandowski or Eric or Ivanka Trump to moderate.
I guess that is why Beck lost it again over Kasich this time.
Ah, Johnny didn’t want to stand onstage for two hours debating with just Ted. I’m sure it would have been scintillating...
It is in Trump’s interest to debate. He can designate Kasich as a Buckeye shill for “Mrs. Bill” and practice for the October debates.
