So it is with radical progressives. For them, inherent evil only resides on the right. The notion of inherent evil on the left does not compute for them. (The terms “right” and “left” are, practically speaking, placeholders for white, Western civilization and just about everybody else.) Progressives will occasionally accept that there can be “excess” or “extremism” on the left, but such excesses, they believe, find their root causes in the inherent evils — imperialism, misogyny, racism — attached to the West and to white people.

This sums up the left perfectly.

I can remember back in the 1980s, the song “Sun City” was a popular tune protesting South African apartheid. But to hear anything about Mugabe (or many other African dictators at that time) who’d make P.W. Botha look like an angel)? Nothing. Or the communist dictatorship running Ethiopia at the time of the 1984-85 drought and famine? Here was Bob Geldof at Live Aid telling unsuspecting people to donate untold millions that basically went to buy tanks and guns while the grain either rotted away while awaiting delivery to the needy or was simply given to the regime and it’s friends. What a (bad) joke.
