Nancy Reagan took to her grave that the man who attempted to kill Reagan was a business associate of the Bush family. Fact.

I don't think this was a secret she was protecting. Everyone knew it, then and now. If it was more than a weird coincidence, I have never seen that put forth with any facts to back it up, other than supposition. If there was such information, I would not have expected Reagan to keep Bush on for the second term, or support his run for the Presidency. Nor would Nancy have kept quiet about it after Ron passed away.

This is not to say that it was more than coincidence, just that I am not aware of any information to the contrary. It is also weird that the same Neil Bush who was scheduled to have dinner with Hinckley's parents is the guy on Cruz's team now, and that Romney, when he gave his big anti-Trump speech stood in front of a huge sign that said "Hinckley Institute".

Newt kind of threw cold water all over Sean last night. He said and rightly so that Cruz and Trump at the convention with 80% of the vote are not going to let some unknown come in and steal it from them. If push comes to shove they will team up and one will be on top of the ticket and the other will be on the bottom and they will prevail. This exactly what will happen if the party tries to steal it.

"Gingrich speculated that Trump and Cruz might actually form an alliance, similar to how they did in the early days of the campaign, in order to prevent a brokered convention at the last minute."

I wonder if they haven't already formed a mutual third party agreement, to agree to run as a third party if either or both get a raw deal at the convention? If those two jumped shipped and ran as a team, I think that it's over for any dimmacrat, National Socialist or whatever, as well as the GOPe.

How old are you? It was well known at the time of the shooting, and on the evening news. If you were not old enough to remember the events of that time frame, you wouldn’t hear about it except maybe in a history channel documentary. But it’s not a secret. The family being prominent and even friends with the Bushes was known, and the parents were photographed, gave statements, and worked behind the scenes to defend their son with an insanity plea. Another coincidence, I think he just got released.

Actually, after the assassination Nancy asked to never be seated near the Bushes and the Reagans did not make appearances in support of Bushes run for the Presidency in 1988. Time did an article on that.

As far as the Hinckley Institute in Utah, that has to do with the LDS Prophet Hinckley who is no relation to the Texas oil Hinkleys.

The would be assassin’s mother now lives in Maryland, very close to the capital.

Mr. Hinkley is getting out of jail very soon, by the way.

I just talked to a friend I haven’t heard from for a while here in Fla.. She is voting for Trump. My CPA and her husband are voting Trump tonight. My two sisters and a brother-in-law are voting Trump. My Democrat friend switched to Republican here to vote Trump. Another friend of mine is voting for Trump. I do believe it will be a landslide here in Fla. for Trump. Rick Scott is being asked to extend voting hours here because they did not have enough ballots in Apopka. Not sure what he will do.

Reagan gave a fiery speech for George at the 1992 convention, and I believe he spoke at the 1988 convention, too. I don’t recall on that, nor about him not campaigning for Bush. I recall Bush campaigning as the 3rd Reagan term, but I don’t recall the level of Reagan’s involvement. If he wasn’t involved at all, that would surprise me.

Always loved Newt, but his forte is not winning national elections, his ability to control his baser urges or his late in life need to pander for a minutes in a 2nd hand spotlight.
