I am a Trumper and you are right. There is no one-—other than Rush, who seems nutty on this-—who thinks a contested convention=Cruz win.

Which is all the more reason for him to drop out and endorse Trump. He can gain absolutely nothing by staying in except to hand the presidency to either Hillary or Yeb.

I think that happens at the end, but I also think Cruz wants the biggest pile of chips to negotiate with. That means he is wanting a spot on the ticket.

And Trump will give it to him, I think. If Trump goes to the convention with 1,100 delegates, and Cruz goes in with 800, and they run as a ticket, the establishment will have to cede to a ticket that won 75% of the delegates combined.

Otherwise 1968 in Chicago will look like a fight in the parking lot.

I read on another thread that at some point Cruz will know with certainty that he cannot win, perhaps tomorrow, and he will take the deal with trump. the question will be what does Cruz want?

Trump is the deal maker and will shape a deal that Cruz will take. it will be win, win

When the convention starts, it will already be decided for Trump

That seems very plausible to me
