Thanks for your insight on this. Did the car bomb angle surprise you? Are car bombs not an uncommon thing in Germany?

In the US, you sometimes see such things in gangster movies, but not in real life. Here, it’s almost always the bullet. But that’s another sad story.

Over in France, you see car-burnings...where some punks go through a neighborhood and set fire to cars....maybe a couple....maybe a dozen...in one night.

In Germany, with car-bombings? I don’t think there’s been one in thirty years...when the Red Army Faction was active (late 80s). Around 1996 in Frankfurt, there was a church-bombing around Xmas...killing three people. No one ever owned up that that episode.

That’s what makes this an odd thing. Normally, if you’ve screwed up with the mafia or some organized crime group...they just make you disappear. There would be no public situation like this.
