As a former Cruz supporter I must say you are sooo right. There comes a time when all good people have to stand for what’s right. If Trump has the most votes, even if it’s not a majority, he should win.
They are welcome to the ashes that would remain.
They already have.
Then Trump is a write in candidate, and every Congress person, every dog catcher, every state and local office holder will be rejected for independent, Green party, libertarian, whatever party.
And it will be an absolute revolution because Sanders’ voters will do he same and DC will be broken for good.

He’s a phony - a self-serving politician - but I guess it’d be another lesser-of-two-evils situation. Actually, that’s what it is regardless.

It was cheating.
Romney came out first and basically put out there that it was okay for the entire establishment to hit Trump.
Unprecedented.
He then went on to continue and had his minions participate.
Romney went all in and lost. The media, the Pope, now Obama, went all in. And they are losing.
If Romney had kept his mouth shut, this would have resolved itself fair and square.
As it stands, there is nothing fair or square about it, so Trump gets a delegate spread, if you will.
That’s our Art of the Deal.

That’s the point of a convention, that we don’t automatically pick the plurality winner, we let the delegates for each candidate (which represent the total votes in the primaries) decide which candidate they would all like.
The winner is the one that gets a majority of the votes. If Trump can convince a majority of the delegates who represent the primary voters, he can win a brokered convention. If on the other hand the delegates for the other candidates want someone other than trump, he won’t win.
If you don’t like conventions, push to get rid of them and simply give the nomination to the plurality winner.
But there’s no way any conservative would support that if two real conservatives collected almost 2/3rds of the votes, but one moderate managed to collect the most votes even though he was well short of 50%.
Oh wait, they would here at least, because they buy into this fiction that Trump is somehow conservative.

Of course! I wouldn’t care if Bush or even McCain got the most delegates, then they should get the nomination.
Otherwise, who would you suggest the delegates pick? Some nominee selected behind closed doors by a handful of globalists?
cruz and co are in this now to stop Trump. They had their meetings with the establishment and Romney.
What is ironic is that cruz said if this happened then it would be bad and now he is saying he would welcome it.
Seems the voters for him too have no problem being with the establishment and taking their corruption to their own hearts, bless em.

I’m not sure Trump would win. It also invites quite a bit of voter fraud. There is another way. Trump hasn’t even addressed this issue himself and Republicans around the country can also vote with their wallet.

I have the exact same feelings about the lying globalist Cruz so I understand. I respect your right to vote as you wish. My sons served proudly for us to both have that freedom. Fortunately my ballot is paper and I will write in Trump if need be.
