Former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin did attend a Donald Trump campaign rally in Florida after all, a reversal of an announcement made by the campaign after learning Palin's husband, Todd, had been injured in a snowmobile accident.
The former Alaska governor, who has endorsed the Republican candidate, campaigned for the GOP presidential front-runner in The Villages, Florida, where she fired up the crowd attacking the protesters who have been showing up at Trump rallies. "What we don't have time for is all that petty punk-ass little thuggery stuff that's been going on with those quote-unquote protesters who are doing nothing but wasting your time and trying to take away your First Amendment rights, your rights to assemble peacefully," Palin said. "And the media being on the thugs' side what the heck are you guys thinking, media?"
The media and many of the other candidates are underestimating the wisdom of the people, Palin said. "You're smart, energized, optimistic, positive, and that's why you're here today."
Palin mentioned her husband's accident, saying that such life events force people to focus on spending their time on the things that are most important, "the time we have to spend on doing something so worthy, and that's getting Donald J. Trump elected president."
Scott Davis, Todd Palin's former snowmobile racing partner, said Monday that Palin's father, Jim, told him Todd was injured and in the hospital but would be OK.
