“Snow machine” is an Alaskanism for what most of the rest of the country calls a “snowmobile”; a track-driven vehicle with steerable skis that is intended to run over snow and ice.

I’ve never (yet) owned one but “snow machine” is the operable term here in the PNW (WA, OR, ID) also, at least among operators.
