My eyes are wide open now. It’s kinda like a gut punch. I expected Rush to double down...but I thought, at least for a while, that the Rush who I thought was a “truth detector” would punch back at Cruz and his duplicity.

Nah. Way cooler to side with the elites and take the swipes at Trump.

I am in total agreement. Rush was my first taste of conservatism, and Levin was my compass on a lot of things I didn't know much about.

As much as I have been enthused and inspired by Trump this season, I have also seen people whom I thought had integrity behave like political hacks.

Once, I never could have believed Rush was capable of what he has unfolded, especially in the last few weeks. And especially today. I remember for two days he reamed Trump nonstop for attacking Cruz "from the left" is how I think he put it. Cruz has done the exact same thing, and not a word.

Levin, it is almost too difficult to talk about. There was a time I would have said what Levin has done these past few months was not possible, he was a man of integrity. He too is just a political hack. And my heart hurts to find that out.

I think the answer is: There's nothing anyone can do to change Rush or Levin, for that matter. They are the embedded, and that embedding now includes getting in bed with the gopE elite. They are the Conservative elite. It's just one of those low down dog and dirty things I guess you learn as you mature. It's just sad for me.

Yeah, I think it's coming to this: There is the conservative wing of the Republican party. They spout their conservative wisdom, but they never get their way within the party or in Congress. They always lose important primaries, but when they do, they go along and support the winner, no matter if it is Arlen Specter or Thad Cochran, or John McCain or Willard Romney.

Then there is me. I am a conservative American, not a member of a party. I left the Republican party around 2006 during the amnesty battle, and now, I hate the Republican party much more than the Democrat party. We would have defeated the Democrat party decades ago, if it were not for the Republican party as it was constructed beginning with the first Bush. Democrats, we can handle. They are honest about hating us. Republicans have used lies to move the Democrat agenda while convincing the conservative majority of this country that they were fighting as hard as they could. It has been a perfect symbiotic relationship.

Trump threatens the status quo. He is taking the party back as a prelude to ending the dance with the Democrats. Once the party is no longer run by corrupt hacks, maybe, just maybe, a conservative American may want to be a member. Maybe we'll even let Rush rejoin us in the good fight, once his GOPe has been defeated.
