Ohio Gov. John Kasich wants to allow law-abiding undocumented immigrants to achieve legal status, saying many immigrants "contribute a lot to the United States."
"The 12 million who are here, we ought to find out who they are. If they've been law-abiding over a period of time, they ought to be legalized and they ought to be able to stay here," the Republican presidential candidate told CNN's "State of the Union" program Sunday.

Dead presidential candidacy walking.
They don’t want a “path to citizenship”.
They’re the Nuevo Conquistadores, here to “reclaim” Aztlan for Madre Mexico.
Ohioans, wake up!
The phrase “Law-Abiding Illegals” is an oxyKasich.
Law abiding illegals...
What’s wrong with this statement??
Every time I read the descriptive “law-abiding”applied to the illegals it makes me fume.
Their very presence in the country means that they are not “law abiding”.
We are ruled by idiots.
.
First, make English the official language of the US. Then require English fluency for even a green card. Then we’ll talk. No need to check papers if they don’t speak English and don’t have a current passport and tourist visa. That would be probable cause for detention and inquiry as to legal status. See how easy these things are to fix, Governor?
By virtue of the fact that they’re here illegally, they’re not law abiding.
The 12 million illegal alien namer is a fraud - it's more like 35 -55 million.
They use the 12 million people number because it is a number that misleads Americans as to the extent to which granting illiterate, unskilled and uneducated illegals amnesty and citizenship will change the voting demographics and entitlement culture of our country.
I refuse to consider and reject out of hand any proposal regarding the illegal alien issue until our politicians stop lying to us and start telling the truth and the best place to start is admitting that the real number of illegals in the United States is in the 35-55 million people range, maybe more.
Seriously, back 20 years ago the number the Clinton administration used for the illegal population was 12 million (a low ball number even then) . We know what the country looked like from an illegal alien perspective years ago and it ws no where near what see today. The massive illegal alien invasion of America since then has massively and visibly changed the demographics of the country .
Only when amnesty is passed and all the the 35 million + illegals come out from the shadows as the dominant and deciding voting block in the country capable of giving the Progressive Left a permanent electoral majority will the American people know how badly they have been conned by self serving the political elites.
The scary thing is that they only have to win once because once they have won, there will be no turning back as illegal alien voters voting in their own interests for political power and wealth redistribution will swamp the votes of American citizens
I am more than ready and willing to enter into a honest, good faith debate on the status illegals, but until our political class stops lying to us and comes clean about the true numbers of the illegal aliens and the true consequences of granting 35 -55 million illegals amnesty there is simply no common ground to debate.
You cannot have good faith negotiations when the political elite class enters into the negotiations with the intent to deliberately defraud the American people and fool them into accepting an amnesty deal that equates to electoral, demographic and cultural suicide for American citizens when we suddenly have 35-55 million new citizens who can vote and become fully eligible for entitlements overnight
We learned this with ObamaCare.
I approve of giving law-abiding illegals a path to citizenship. Of course, there are no law-abiding illegals, since they all broke the law either by entering our country illegally or by overstaying their legal entry.
Still, I even approve of giving law-breaking illegals a path to citizenship. They get two choices: (1) self-deport before they are caught, go home, and apply for legal entry, which could give them eventual citizenship, or (2) stay until they are deported and then bar them from any legal entry and from any path to citizenship ever.
So Kasich has adopted the Donald Trump position on Amnesty, I see. He is just trying to coopt Donald Trump voters!
(You were aware that Donald Trump has come out for Amnesty, right?)
To paraphrase, in the plain-spoken language of a law-abiding American: “Give law-abiding illegals a ride back to the country from which they came and tell them to get to the back of the friggin’ line.”
It's a misdemeanor to break into this country illegally, it's what transpires afterward that folks really need to be aware of.
Illegals attempting to stay in this country and fly under the radar must obtain fraudulent documents, commit perjury on documents for things such as food stamps to housing to placing their kids in our schools and federal tax evasion.
Then icing on the cake, illegals use emergency rooms as their primary care physicians costing taxpayers millions each year in higher local property taxes.
Go away Kasich.
John... John... John....
Is English your first language?
Do you see an imbecility in the phrase Law-Abiding Illegals?
WTF???
not one peep out of the old media.
FNC must be ok with not pretending anymore
the thirty pieces of silver to obtain Romney’s help.
It ought to be the same for all of us. If illegals are allowed to break the law we, current citizens, ought to be given a free pass also.
Didn’t pay your taxes, no problem, Here your free card. Run over a couple children, no problem here is your free card. Raped the neighbor lady, no problem, here is your free card.
