Reminds me of Venezuela under Chavez, where pro-socialist mobs would attack any remenent of conservative media. When state-approved mobs are allowed to serve as the state's unofficial brownshirts, it can go from bad to horrible very fast.

I totally agree with that, and I have no clear solutions.

I, instead, focused on the hideous accusation that "Trump deserves his rape! He dresses like a SLUT!"

It's the only part of this set of scenarios that I pray I have a possible solution for: a (hopefully powerful) counter-meme.

The ‘Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution’ was thought control by intimidation, persuasion by various torture methods in re-education camps, and elimination of the unrepentant.

The message doesn’t really matter, only that you are subservient to their word. If you deviate into non-approved thoughts, you are guilty of thought-crime. Anyone not affirming their core dogma is the enemy.

The new version, the BLM and similar cults, initiated disruption at the university centers and metastasized to directly manipulate the political choice mechanisms. Submit or be silenced seems the theme.
