Fact is, when he first announced, I loved it. He was bringing up the stuff that politicians are afraid to say, because the press hammers them, unreasonably, from their own bully pulpit.
But it became his schtick and we all loved it when he won against the press. He’s like a super-Rush Limbaugh.
But does that make him good presidential material? At first I thought it might. But the fact is that as time passed, I realized that his rhetoric and style could cause WWIII. That was first a passing thought. It is a genuine concern at this point.
And as time passes, I notice myself watching and reading his supporters and noticed that, although he does not remind me of Hitler, his followers DO remind me of Hitler’s followers in the early days. Their style resembles, more and more, the style of the Brownshirts. We’ll see if it continues to get worse. I’m watching with that particular lens.
