I believe he is a smart man and I am confident he understands the implications of how he builds his phrases. He had a huge opportunity to rise above everyone else last night and still make similar points. Had he said something along the lines of “While I do not agree with all the Mr. Trump says or how he says it, and while he does feed an atmosphere of antagonism, there is absolutely no excuse for the behavior exhibited in the rally hall and on the streets of Chicago, etc.,” he could have made his jab at Trump and still stood tall against the Sanders, move-on, and OnlyBLM, anti-free speech crowd.
I really believe that is the source of the anger against him. In essence, many people heard his words as saying “they may have misbehaved, but they had just cause.”
Yup, if he would have just said the first part, Cruz would have been fine but he had to throw in the second part with weasel words. That's what got Cruz in so much trouble.
And really, the leftist narrative has been building for awhile about the so called "culture" of Trumps gatherings but I read yesterday someone who has watched all his rallies, said there was very little other than the leftists that have tried to disrupt them or continue to try to disrupt them. They said people have been good at Trump's rallies and Trump emphasized that tonight in KC.
The disruptions are all coordinated as to create this "culture" at his rallies so it can be parroted as truth and it is not. The left is pretty evil when it comes to things like this and so many fall for it time and time again. Cruz was stupid to add the weasel words like he did and also fall for the leftist's tactics.
