It happened after he had walked by, and it may well be that the people involved have not told him what really happened, that they're saying, "Nah, she's making it up! She's exaggerating. It didn't happen, or it did happen but it wasn't Corey Lewandowski that did it," or what have you. But, I mean, there's all kinds of witnesses and evidence here. People were running audiotape of it. There's some video, I think. She's got the bruises on her arms.
Politico has run, I think, the audio and transcript of it. So it happened. And Trump last night said that he thinks it's being made up because that's obviously what his people are telling him. Now Michelle Fields of Breitbart has filed a formal criminal complaint against Lewandowski alleging that he forcefully grabbed her and nearly threw her to the floor. So that's not gonna go away.

Fields was indeed hurt in the altercation, and published a photograph of her bruises. Yet the available evidence from WPTV and ABC suggests that it was unlikely that Lewandowski was the person who caused her injuries.
Given the similarity in appearance between Lewandowski and the security official, and given the fact that Lewandowski was walking on the other side of Trump from where Fields was at the time, the possibility of mistaken identity cannot be ruled out. Indeed, given Lewandowski’s adamant denials (coupled with statements inappropriately impugning Fields’s character), it is the likeliest explanation.
In addition, the injury may have been accidental, owing simply to the chaos of the press scrum. A video filmed by a local CBS reporter earlier in the evening shows Fields standing near Trump and the same security official, with no concern or alarm on the part of Trump campaign staff.Fields relied in good faith on Terris’s confirmation, and later assertions, that the person who touched her was Lewandowski. But he cited no other source to prove his claim, neither at the time nor in the Washington Post.

Despite the Trump camp’s outright denial that any such altercation occurred, viewers can see at the 10-second mark that Lewandowski reached with his left arm for Fields’s left arm, briefly grabbing her. Lewandowski’s grasp then broke before he reached again, this time on her left arm, which is where Fields showed she was bruised the day after.”

I guess the ISIS movie star that attacked Trump today will file assault charges too... most likely. He’ll probably be featured on Megyn’s show on Monday to explain how horrible Trump is for wanting to help America.

However, Lewandowski was not the only “man with short-cropped hair and a suit” walking near Trump. And he was walking on the opposite side of Trump from Fields, and Terris. A photograph by Washington Post photographer Jabin Botsford, Terris’s colleague, released by ABC News World News Tonight, and taken seconds before the altercation took place, shows two men with short-cropped hair.
So much for your witness. And, as I have read, this female is a serial accuser... all false and unproven.
