I did address what Cruz said about Trump’s calls for violence and the violence on the part of Trump rally attendees in that same post.

I do think Cruz could have been a bit too hard on the Donald, but it’s no more unfair than what Trump has done to Cruz.

It’s an election.

If Cruz took on Trump’s persona he could have said, look at that Donald Trump. He runs away from Obama Pajama boys who are going to protest. Wa wa, wa.

That would be Trump style.

Why did Trump cancel? What’s he scared of? Was there really danger?

Those are probably just rhetorical questions, but I'll answer them for you.

1)Trump cancelled because he's a smart guy. He just took over the weekend news cycle before a very big set of primaries, and his top opponent, Sen. Cruz walked right into a truly stupid moment, which could cost him his chance to be President.

2)Trump isn't necessarily scared of anything, but he could easily see that security issues at the rally could spiral out of control and generate bad images in the media. For example, if the protesters rushed the stage and the Secret Service saw the need to take serious action the resulting video would not be helpful.

3)As to the danger issue you might want to ask the police officer with blood dripping down his face. Most people would consider that kind of situation dangerous, because physical violence between protesters and police can escalate quickly into a dangerous situation.

I do think [...] it’s no more unfair than what Trump has done to Cruz.

Apparently there are many (former) Ted Cruz supporters who disagree with you, and believe that Cruz's comments were entirely off base, and made him sound like an apologist for an organized, criminal left-wing conspiracy intended solely to foment violence and infringe on the Right of the People to Peaceably Assemble.

Ted Cruz jumped the shark last night. He stands exposed as a naked opportunist, and as a result dozens of his (former) supporters on this forum, voters who have publicly avowed him, have been driven into the Donald Trump camp.

What the BLM/MoveOn crowd did yesterday was overtly un-American, and their crime should have been fiercely repudiated by the entire field of GOP candidates. Instead, blinded by their own hatred and ambition, they failed to show leadership or solidarity for something that should have unified the entire country.

If the response on this forum is any indicator, March 11 will be remembered Cruz's Waterloo.
