I have a theory that Trump knew what was going to happen if he spoke in that area and knew he would get shut down and he did get shut down and now the media is showing the protestors being the asses and long term it might harm them, agree or disagree.
I doubt that he "knew" this would go from "protest" to "threatening attack." Once the physical menace reached the level where security said NO, proceeding with the event wasn't his call anymore.
If he - or his staff - are as sharp as I think they are, this will benefit him in the long run.
