Republican Ohio gubernatorial candidate John Kasich tried to persuade two state pension funds in 2002 to invest with Lehman Brothers while he was the managing director of the investment banking houses Columbus office.
In a reply to questions, Kasich campaign officials acknowledged that the former Columbus-area congressman helped arrange the two meetings between Lehman officials and representatives of the Ohio Police and Fire Pension Fund and the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System, known as OPERS.

Connect said dots on your own, of course, but I’m betting he wouldn’t have gotten this job had he not had access to political power.
Did Lehman do any education, transportation, municipal bonding deals for Ohio? That/s where the pols and the bank make zillions of dollars in perpetuity.
Also leaves the taxpayers w/ huge tax bills....in perpetuity.
In a report in The Columbus Dispatch, a Lehman official said Kasich had board level and CEO relationships where he helped not only open the door for Lehman Brothers, but he also was a key member of the deal team providing advice.

Kasich was asked to release his tax returns for all eight years he was at Lehman in 2010, but he only released his 2008 return and a 2009 financial disclosure statement. Reports showed he made $1.4 million in 2008including $265,000 as a Fox News contributor and $590,000 (his bonus was $432,000) from Lehman.
