Technically those were military targets---not Dresden, but then that was the Brits. I know, mostly civilians, but even a-bomb targets were selected for military content.
But personally, I have no issue striking at the support structure of an enemy, especially when it's clearly a willing support structure.

Exactly. We have targeted civilians in WWII. We were fighting to survive. Antiseptic wars is a new concept and only one that can be fought if you see the enemy as no mortal threat.
And ISIS is a non-state actor that is not bound by any rules. They are Medieval savages.
