“I’m about six years away from Social Security.”

Me too. I did not put any expectations in SS. So I made investments, both brokerages and 401k, and I took the time to study and understand the business cycles, the world economy, the differences in types of investments and when the time is ready for one or the other, interest rates, currency manipulation, the strength or weakness of the dollar, on and on.

And now I have a LOT of money.

Even when things tanked of late, I still came out ok and in fact am better aligned than ever. I do not need SS.

But I support those who paid in, paid in, paid in, forced to do so, and they deserve their money.

The ONLY solution is to replace SS at some point with a privatized method of saving for the future and to open incentives to do so - and to have a GDP and economy where growth will grow such investments FOR AMERICA OVER ALL.

In fact, that alone - the greatness of America and the GROWTH and economic power of America - which will save Social Security for those who deserve getting what they paid in to. Trump is correct. We don’t as much need to “raise the age” or cut the benefit - we need to grow America.

Everybody who is under 40 knows that they will never get a dime from SS.

Long past time to face that fact and act accordingly.

We need more people here on FR who are concerned about the deficit they are leaving to their grandkids than they are about "getting what I paid in".
