I agree that using Keith Ohlbermann, after he became a leftist commentator was a poor decision and evidence of a liberal bias.
However, regardless of that decision, I really like the idea of those involved in sports media to be apolitcal. I’d like to watch a college football game without thinking about the political views of a play by play announcer.
Ditka is 76. He doesn’t really appeal to the demographic that ESPN wants to deliver to advertisers, even if they weren’t doctrinaire Marxists.
As much as I like sports, it is a sad commentary on how many people get caught up in it so much. Its almost like a distraction to the problems we face. \
There are plenty of folks out there who are obsessed about their March madness brackets, but will never vote or even think about much larger issues.
This new role is really a blessing, Ditka said in a statement released by ESPN. Its something I asked for. After many years of weekend travel, Im thrilled Ill get to watch NFL games on Sundays and Monday nights in the comfort of my own home. I enjoy being part of the game and part of ESPN. I really do. So this is a great solution.
Doesn’t come in on Antenna TV.
Watch a lot of Hill Street Blues.
Oh please, Leftists on ESPN are given free reign to politicize evertyhing as long as it is leftwing.
Ditka gets fired.
Are you nuts or blind?
I don’t agree with your saying that you can tune in to ESPN without regard to political persuasion. They are dripping with PC. Just listen a little closer and you will see it. I will watch certain sports telecasts but no longer watch any of the analytical shows. This is my choice and not a criticism of your choice. I don’t watch Sean Hannity but when John Force of NHRA fame called him a liar a few years ago it put the nail in the coffin for me. I stopped watching. I don’t need that crap with my sports.
I agree leftists run ESPN and they have a double standard. My point is not to defend them allowing leftists or PC programming to occur, but for sports to be devoid of political issues as much as possible.
Unfortunately, most of talk radio today does not discuss issues but only Capitol Hill politics, cheerleading and elections.
I admitted ESPN was PC laden. I don’t watch their sports news programs or their debate shows but when I watch an actual game, it is nice to just enjoy the sport without thinking positive or negative about the announcers or commentators.
,
However, as a business decision, most sports fans are not liberals so it is perplexing to me the double standard. Unless they feel they would anger black sports fans with comments about Obama,.
No more ESPN witout Dikka
“The real reason he was dumped. One must not speak ill of Dear Leader.”
Just like North Korea. The only difference is the size of the bag of $hit running the place!

“Can they do this legally? Isn’t there something about you just can’t get rid of someone because of political reasons,”
Sure you can, just look at what Oregone did to the two people who refused to bake a couple of queers a wedding cake!
Be safe out there
I’m surprised he lasted this long. Normally, ESPN only hires freaks and girlymen.
;-)
Trump will be in Chicago on Friday. Wouldn’t it be a hoot if Ditka showed up on stage with him?
Come people, start fighting back!!!
Remember:Ditka was too gutless to run against BHO for Senate-he likely would have won and prevented the hell America has experienced the last 8 years.
Go soak your head.
