Turkey Point has been around a long time. We used to shrimp nearby as the shrimp would huddle up to the screens on the valves for warmth.

“It is HIGHLY unlikely that Tritium is showing up in any measurable quantity unless there is a breach in the primary coolant.”

Turkey Point Unit 3 legally releases about 10x10^12 picoCuries of Tritium each year.

Good point, but the insidious thing about exposure to radiation, it kills years later in many cases.

My sister in law worked for a nuke plant down in South Texas. I remember a gathering they had invited us to, a company picnic. They had catch and release fishing. Hmmmm. Peaked my curiosity.

Come to find out, the retention lake had low level radioactivity and they did not want folks keeping the fish.

YIKES! Needless to say, the effects of Fukashima will not be realized for years.

>>Chernobyl is now a wildlife sanctuary!<<

Good grief, sure it is. Humans cannot inhabit the area. What the hell else would it be?

The deer and wild hogs have been tested for years and continue to test positive for elevated levels of contamination. lol

Unless you walk into some place and your skin curls up and you die in seconds then the official word will always be that Fukashima has not hurt a soul. As far as authorities are concerned- Not even one person has suffered ill Effects from Fukashima.

Nuclear energy is a hobby of mine.
to me, the physics is the interesting part.
Sometimes the physics miss key points in real life implementation.
