Dear CRuz supporter
Romney was 200 delegates short. He was also behind Trump’s current delegate count.
Why was Milt never contested??
Sorry, your “it’s just the rules” meme doesn’t fly.
CRuz has fully exposed his establishment creds.

Some of the article is misguided spin but well it is CFP

Right. It's how it is done. The rules of the convention state that you have to have a certain number of delegates. If no one has that required number, you're going to have to hash it out at the convention floor until someone does. Whining about the rules that everyone knew about going into it would just be .... whining.
Every person running for office banks every vote cast for him or her. You must be too pure for food. Maybe you run on sunlight.
In any case, neither ‘Bush’ (who the hell is that, anyway) nor Romeny have any sort of leash on Cruz, long or short.
And as for taking care about one’s wishes, I would toss that right back at ya. Trump equals continued Democrat control of government. Even if Trump managed to squeak out a victory for himself, the down ticket devastation would be horrendous. No thanks and no sale.
Thank you. I knew the Trump supporters were blinded by his light but I didn't know that they had also lost the ability to read:
(Cruz said) he would have no problem with a contested convention over the summer in the event neither he nor Donald Trump secures enough delegates before then to lock up the Republican presidential nomination.
Are there any FReepers still believing his crap?
Yes. Even proudly so.
I could probably name a few who got played, and are too proud to admit it, but the others are plainly not conservatives.
And I also have a problem with anyone who doesnt have a problem with it.

Well, given our anonymous poster on internet forum status, I doubt anyone is really fretting over your comment.
But I am confused.
If Trump does not have 1237 delegates at the time of the convention, how would you see the convention playing out?
Thanks. I was going by a recent CNN report. Will research.
Contested is not a brokered.
You’re getting hung up on semantics...whether contested or brokered, a convention can be then subjected to wheeling and dealing on all levels; if you think party bosses aren’t involved in a so called ‘contested’ convention, I don’t know what to tell you...
the other thing to be considered; the track record of contested conventions is abominable, and it i to the benefit of the party to wrap the contest up as soon as possible...
Cruz = Trojan Horse = Establishment = Globalist
Kinda hard to defend.
I could be wrong but I don't think he's going to make it. If he doesn't make it and he only has a plurality of delegates, I'm going to enjoy watching the wheels come off the whole GOP.
We are used to seeing these things decided well before the convention, because all the primaries are front loaded these days.
The 1976 Convention was contested, but the front runner going in, Ford, did win on the first ballot.

Thanks
a “contested” Convention becomes a “brokered convention in the EXACT same manner. It’s a distinction without a difference.
Thank You!!! This deep into the thread and someone finally sees the truth...
How dare you actually read and understand the statement made by Cruz! You can't do that on a post by Trump supporters who can only see what they want to see.
Yes, I will support Cruz if he wins. No chance I won’t.
Like I said upthread, if they pick anyone other than the person with the most delegates at the time of the convention, then war.
If Cruz has the most delegates, then pick him.
If Cruz has the most delegates, and they pick Mitt Romney or Jeb Bush, war.
I don’t think that there is any possibility of Kasich or Rubio being that person with the most delegates, so I am not going to concern myself with that scenario atm.
My position is the GOP had best honor the wishes of its base, otherwise to Hell with them.
You fretted over it enough to respond to it.
You can read my subsequent posts in this thread to see how I see the convention playing out if it matters to you.
“Wow, guess hes not so anti-establishment after all.”
Ted has sold his soul to the GOPe. Everyday that goes by he gets deeper in debt to the GOPe. Sorry thing to see.
Contested convention means either Trump or Cruz wins.
Brokered convention means Romney/Ryan.
If the standard were a plurality of the votes, then the rules would be the same.
