Nancy Reagan, the late former first lady, is getting the last laugh on the Washington Post which offered a rude obituary of former President Ronald Reagan's bride Monday.
Our T. Becket Adams reports on how the paper changed the snarky tone of the story after it first posted. She died over the weekend at 94.
It probably wouldn't have surprised Reagan, who used to joke about the paper's bias.

That line is a running joke here at FR. I thought it originated with someone other than Nancy. Ron or maybe a columnist from that time frame. I don't remember.
Look at that coat Nancy Reagan is wearing, and I’ll tell the picture does not do it justice. For Reagan’s first inauguration, I was standing on the northern side of Pennsylvania Avenue between 12th and 13th Streets. From there I could see the West Front of the Capitol and the huge crowd assembled on the steps as Reagan was sworn in. The only thing I could make out from over twelve blocks away was that coat, a clear speck of bright orange in a grey black mass.
Two really great people.
I heard it first on Rush's show. I vaguely recall it preceded FR, and that he attributed it to someone.
