I keep hearing the “Trump would lose to Clinton” narrative but I just don’t see it. Every liberal Democrat I’ve talked to - young, old and in between - hate her. IMHO, the GOP could run a dead possum against Clinton and still win.
Now now, you don’t know what ‘most’ think.
I for one think Trump gets run over the rails from nomination day to election day and gets little to no air time beginning in early October.
Yes, this will happen with any delegate but due to his statements throughout his public life... He’s an easy target for the left.
As we move forward the broken sentences will turn into chopped up sound bites the flips will be excluded from the flops and the democrats will paint him in any way they want. It’s not going to be fun being a trump supporter in September. Remember, he’s a white 1%’r whose dad was a slumlord. That doesn’t fly with most republicans but the left will enjoy using it every day.
I can remember when the black folks I worked with, the ones I met at the grocery store and campaign visits were asking me serious questions about W. in 2000. I thought we had a chance to pick up a good percentage. Then the goofy adds started about ‘lynchings’ etc... (I still despise Mark Pryor for pushing those adds on Hip Hop radio stations....)
The honest questions turned into abject hate - directed against me because I was a very visible Bush supporter.

Cruz will be a much harder target. Will they pick on Heidi for GS connections? Maybe, but then she can dish on what Hillary said during her stops there. I think they’ll actually go the other way - pick on Cruz because his father is an immigrant and spread sleazy racist junk like ‘He’s greasy’. They are pretty good at that kind of thing.
