I’m with you on the logic.
We’ll see.
I don’t like the drift at all...

They can demand all they want, but they are the desperate ones right now, not him.
He has more delegates going to the convention that all candidates besides Trump combined. If there is anyone more powerful than a King, it’s a kingmaker, and I think Cruz would not hesitate to give the crown to Trump made from the gold the establishment gave him.

Thanks for the explanation. I don’t think Trump has it locked up. I am still leaning that he could do it.
I certainly wouldn’t say your are wrong though.
I have tended to give Trump too much credit so far, so I could still be doing it.

The biggest misconception is that Missouri and Illinois are WTA next week.
They aren’t.
MO has a 50% floor for WTA. Otherwise, it’s winner by CD (5 delegates each for each 8 CDs) and WTA for the 12 remaining statewide.
Illinois is direct election of delegates for CDs (18 CD x 3) and then WTA for the remaining statewide (17 delegates).
North Carolina is strictly proportional.
Only Ohio and Florida are true WTA.

Little telling what will happen.

It would truly gripe me if Cruz had 600-800 and Trump had 1175, and Cruz went for the blackmail to get on the ticket.

Well and the Northern Marianas Islands as well, but we’re talking 9 delegates.. They are actually the first WTA primary, closing at 5:00 AM Eastern as mainland America’s day begins.

How can they do that with no exit polls and being caucuses?
I don't really see the point of calling it, especially after only 2400 votes have been counted. It wouldn't hurt anybody just to wait a little bit. It's not like anyone is paying attention at this time of the night.
To: goldstategop
Just went up to 51% and he seemed to pull away a point or two.
That’s better...

Okay, with those numbers, it is probably well and truly over. Decision desk’s numbers are way behind.
To: NYRepublican72
I see a Trump sweep except for OH.
Then again, the Buckeye State might decide to jump on board the Trump bandwagon.
All of those states he certainly could win.

I don’t think it would be blackmail, it’s just horse trading.
Neither would want to take the chance of losing the nomination to someone who didn’t work their butt off and win the votes, so Trump wants the nomination, Cruz wants a place on the ticket... boom! Deal done.
Trump gets 90% of what he wanted (100% would have been an outright win), Cruz gets 75% of what he wanted (a VP slot sets him up in 8 years for a stronger run), and the establishment get to face the music of getting nothing.

CNN calls Hawaii for Trump.
Looking like he’ll win the majority of the delegates as well for state 7 of 8.
