Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant is endorsing Texas Sen. Ted Cruz for president.
The Cruz campaign announced the endorsement Monday, which comes the day before Mississippi votes in the presidential primary. Forty GOP delegates are at stake.
Bryan says in a statement that "It's time for Republicans to join together and unite the party for the good of our state and our nation."

Yes, but can Cruz beat Hillary?
Nobody seems to care about that
The GOPe is worried about beating Trump
But don’t care if anyone can beat Hillary
Strange election
Yes according to the polls, he beats Hillary.
The head-to-head polls say he can and that Don Trump cannot. Go look.
When’s the national election?
I want to see state-by-state. Last state-by-state I saw showed both of them giving Hillary a good beating.
NOT THAT IT MATTERS because we’re eight months out of the national election still.
The NeverTrump people are messing with the Trump polls.
Trump has a bigger electoral college potential which can make up for the huge negatives that Cruz & Trump both have.
Clinton and Sanders being forced to claim they can beat Trump in Michigan.
UNLIKE TRUMP, how many crossover votes will Cruz get? NONE.
Oh right, those head-to-head polls that had Carter stomping Reagan, almost forgot about those.
This should help - Bryant is a popular figure in Miss.
A couple of Mississippi Reps on twitter are endorsing Trump, just FYI.
I don’t believe Trump’s claim that he can expand the “map” to NY and NJ, until and unless you show me polling that he can beat her in the Northern and Democrat leaning states, I call it bluster, propaganda and not true, even if you showed polling that he was ~close~ in some of those states I’d give your argument credibility, but until then. Trump is weak electorally, according to the polls and that Cruz or Rubio is better on in head-to-head match ups..
She has a 50-50 chance of being in jail by then.
And you can provide polling evidence of your claims that 1) Trump has crossover appeal, and # taken together with #1 that Cruz does not..
Stupid people. Cruz is not a natural born citizen and he is going to get kicked out if he gets the nomination. dammit
Convinced my mother, who lives in MS, to vote for Cruz tomorrow. She really doesn’t like the Donald but she considered voting for Rubio.
Yes
States dont vote in “head-to-head” match ups.
Surveying 400 people across MAYBE 20 states isn’t how it works
Cruz, and even less so with Rubio, have no national plans past hoping to win every state Romney did, and praying that they can turn 3 swing states.
Right now, neither have a chance in hell of getting above the leftist media fog.
In fact, for all of their bragging, no Cruz supporter has ever answered credibility which Midwest state does Cruz have any chance in winning. He is certainly not going to try for anything on either coasts, nor Illinois, Minnesota, or Wisconsin.
I think he's the only choice at this point. Trump supporters are Trump supporters.....but I think they could tolerate Cruz just like most Cruz supporters could tolerate Trump in order to defeat the GOPe's nomination.
Unfortunately, I don't think Rubio/Kasich supporters would move as far as Trump...but they "might" tolerate supporting Cruz as the middle of the road choice.
Many. Especially from dems who see Hillary as a corrupt and dishonest old hag that represents the worst of crony/insider politics.
He'll also draw people who are fed up with declining incomes and a healthcare system that costs more and delivers less. Then there will be some that see still see social issues as important and who are sick of trying to teach their kids the idiocy that is common core. The list of reasons is long and Cruz will do an excellent job of communicating them. You sound like a guy who in '76 and again in '80 told me Reagan was too radical to attract anyone but the far right of the party. How'd that work out?
Oh brother, first show me evidence as I asked for that Trump can expand the map against Hillary C, by beating her in the Northeast.
2nd, just check RCP, Cruz has been running 2nd in some of the Northern and Mid-Western States (Even California has him up).
Also Maine isn’t exactly part of the South, neither is Alaska.
