"How can we remain a Constitutional republic by electing Trump who has absolutely no understanding of the Constitution"
I don't get it. It's been eye opening (and quite sad) to see FReeper's toss aside conservative principles so easily.
Another Freeper expressed best:
"Apparently, I don't have as much in common with the people here as I thought I did".
Sums it up.
Yeah I agree with you completely. I feel the same way.
I think one of the issues is that Trump supporters aren’t actually abandoning conservative principals, they simply never had them in the first place. Principals aren’t something you have, they are who you are as a person. It is impossible to abandon your principals, you instead die for them. Many Trump supporters not only admit they are not conservatives, but they even go so far as to slander conservatives and conservatism in general.
Also, most of the conservatives who used to post here have abandoned FR due to the nonstop flood of ugly, illogical, irrational, bullying posts from Trump supporters. Many Trump supporters are here 24/7 posting non stop trolling. The conservatives they have successfully run off of FR haven’t changed their minds, they simply stopped coming here.
Trump supporters simply don’t want to have to see anything they don’t want to believe (ie truth and facts about Trump). They don’t care that they have further hardened people to Trump, they simply are happy that conservatives no longer post here. That way they can have an echo chamber of “Go Trump! Make us whole again! Be the father we never had!”, and can tell each other that there is this huge movement of solidarity behind Trump that has finally reshaped the nation into one without pesky principals and morality.
None of it is true. Conservatives are still out here, and because of Trump and his supporters’ behavior, are even more against Trump wining the presidency.
