It has been reality teevee banter all the way, not very substantive nor seriously issues related.
But as any TV personality will tell you, there is no such thing as bad publicity, especially building name recognition (and it keeps the other guys below the fold).

Trump just knows how to call their bluffs and he usually doubles down on it. And he does not allow the to control him.
Could Cruz do that? How would he handle a barrage of attacks? He can’t even handle Donald, let alone the entire establishment media. He could not even take down JEB, Donald did that for him, He could not take down Fiorina, Donald did that for him as well. So Cruz just wants to walk in, take Donald’s lead and expect the media is going to play nice with him, because so far their attacks on him have been very mild?

It’s not often I have to look up a word, but I do occasionally (I’m one of those low educated Trump guys), but “exsanguination” was a good one. and it fits nicely.
