If Trump Is So Awful, Why Are His Kids So Awesome?

If you believe The 2016 Mitt Romney Edition, Donald Trump is the most corrupt candidate to ever run for the White House and we must all oppose The Donald and vote for Mitt's and Jeb's love child, little Marco Rubio.

Love child, never meant to be Love child, (scorned by) society Love child, always second best Love child, different from the rest

Sorry about that.

I got a little lost there for a wee bit.

I started channeling Diana Ross after I mentioned Rubio's name.

Weird, eh?

Anyway. Where was I?

Oh, yeah. I was talking about Mitt's on-high exhortation to us poor, bamboozled plebeians ... the unthinking rubes of Obamaland ... who're so easily led astray ... who're so lost in space that we're in need of The 2016 Mitt Romney Edition to point us to the North Star and take us by the hand and lead our lost backsides to the Romney Promised Land, glory to God.

Help us, Mitt! Help us!

Now, granted, The 2016 Mitt Romney Edition didn't come right out and say to “Vote for Marco Pequeño ”, but Romney definitely did rag on Trump like a bitter ex-girlfriend scalding her former favored flame.

Yes, I said it.

Once upon a time, Mitt was madly in love with Donald.

Once upon a time, Mitt was madly in love with Donald. I don’t know what happened, but The 2012 Mitt Romney Edition, not to be confused with the all new 2016 Mitt Romney Edition, once doted over Donald and courted his favor like a love sick puppy.

Matter of fact, in 2012 Paul Anka wrote this...

And they called it puppy love Oh, I guess they'll never know How a young Mitt really feels And why he loves Donald so

… after watching Mitt pursue Trump's endorsement (and his money) in the last Presidential election.

But that was then and this is now and obviously Mitt's bitter. I mean... wow. That screed he gave last week against Donald was the exact opposite (and I mean the exact opposite) of what Willard once waxed eloquently about with his then-love interest, Donald J. Trump.

So, why doth Romney rage?

Well, I'm guessin' it has less to do with patriotism and more to do with personal pettiness and political envy. But, then again, hell if I know and heck if I care. That said, there is one thing I'd like to bring up that I really haven't heard addressed and I kind of find interesting, namely ... Trump's kids are very impressive.

Which is really weird because, if you listen to and believe Donald's detractors, like Mitt, one would think he would've spawned kids that would make Miley Cyrus look like a penitent nun.

Y'all, help me here. I'm confused.

If Trump's such an evil SOB, of shoddy character, with no moral compass, who doesn't really love America, then why are his kids so sharp, solid, smart and a great addition to this grand American experiment in self-governance? You'd think that such a supposed scalawag would have kids who'd give the Kardashians' crass clan a run for their sex-tape money. But no. Donald, Jr., Eric and Ivanka are brilliant and I would bet that they make most of the Donald hater's adult children look like unaccomplished, booger-pickin' chuckleheads. But I could, very possibly, be wrong.

By the way, I know several people who talk major crap about the comb-over candidate and, yet, Trump's kids trump their twenty-something louts, hands down. No contest.

I believe Spider-Man once said that a “tree is known by it's fruit” and “wisdom is vindicated by it's children.”

No, wait... that wasn't Spider-Man. It was Jesus. Stupid me. Anyway … the point is that who a person is gets reduced down to and showcased within their children.

Awww ... did that hurt?

Look, don't shoot me. Jesus said it, not moi. Take it up with him.

Paul, not The Beatle, but the Apostle, said that one of the qualifications for a leader in the church is that he must have dignified children, in all things; and if his children are whacked, well ... he can't lead; because if he can't lead his own house then why the heck should he lead a church?

Succinctly, if your kids are mess then you shouldn't tell us how to live. In the words of songwriter, Jonathan Edwards, “f you can't even run your own life, I'll be damned if you'll run mine – sunshine.”

Now, granted, Trump's not a minister of the gospel but, like I said, I do find it interesting that, not one, but the whole lot of Trump's brood, are grade A, non-drug-booze-government tit-addled-indolent-leeches but pretty amazing young charges who bring excellence to this game of life and, heretofore, honor to the Trump name.

Oh my goodness. You lie again. It was not his youngest daughter you liar.
Thanks for the correction.

I guess that makes Trump's incestuous infatuation OK (according to the Trump cultists).

Glad to hear it.

Sadly, the discussion on this forum as of late has disabled my sarcasm detector.

I went overboard. I am disgusted with the anti-trump onslaught. It is ridiculous that the media is saying that Donald had a bad night. They said that on Super Tuesday as well. Trump is doing well for a guy who never won. Cruz is winning caucus’ with low votes and his home state and the one next to it. Not to minimize his wins but lord trump is not doing bad. Just frustrating how the media and GOPe treated trump last few days.

No problem... we’re all frustrated about things. In addition my mother had a stroke and heart attack wed. I’ve been at the hospital 16 to 20 hours a day since then. I just logged on to FR here in her room....and probably didn’t react well either.

What’s with Marco Rubio as a ‘love child’???? It sounds idiotic to me. Please avoid such stupid statements in the future. FR is beginning to look like a HS gossip column.

As for the headline - that is a good one as it fascinates me also about the three eldest Trump offspring. They seem so well-grounded. It is a tribute to both Donald and Ivana that they turned out so ‘normal’. And, it shows a different aspect of Donald Trump than the persona he shows during the campaign - that of a bully and a petty name-caller of anyone who dares to cross his big ego.

If Trump does get the nomination, and it is looking more and more like he will, I will have to observe him closely as to his maturity. Will we have a president who behaves like this in office? After 8 years of Barack bam, I would not like to face another 8 years of a narcissist. That is unbecoming whether it is from a liberal or from a conservative.

I hope he mellows out and makes it easier for people like me to support him in the general election. Considering that Hilary will likely be his opponent, it would not take much

Under GOP rule 40, he already has five states with over 50% of delegates in the run up to the required 8 state minimum for first round nomination... three more and he’s there. Cruz has to take five more to reach the threshold.

Two of his wives were Eastern European. The early Ivana always looked like a taskmaster to me - despite her turning into Ava Gabor after her divorce from The Donald. And Melania, in her interview with Greta, also came across as one tough Eastern European taskmaster.

Eric Trump told a story on Sean Hannity’s radio show of how he once gave serious lip to the Donald which caused the latter to leap out of the chair and chase him up the staircase where he ran into Ivana. It didn't end well for Eric. So they obviously had two parents who care a lot. Friend, radio show host Mark Simone, has always said that Trump likes to be at home at night - that goes a long way to making children feel safe, comfortable and able to find their way in life.

Those kids have been phenomenal after the debates. If it had been me, I would have strangled Megan Kelly.

Sorry, somehow my reply didn't get into the message.

It's unfair to complain about the "anti-Trump stuff" when it's based on Trump's own statements.

Trump is a sleazy, vulgar flip-flopper. That's all been well documented. Perhaps you don't care because you think the "Yuge Wall" is the only thing that matters, but for many of us, Trump's behavior makes him totally unsuitable for public office.

Trump's public statements just makes it easy and obvious to demonstrate it.

Ivana, who Trump dumped for a trophy wife, was and is an amazing, accomplished woman. So amazing that Trump found another woman with the same accent that could also be a Trophy wife for number three. Granted, Ivana would have never shown her tits on the cover of a man’s rag, but Melania does sound like her; thus what I think was Trump’s initial attraction to her. Purely speculation on my part, of course.

He has great relationship with his children. I saw a glimer of it when Eric and Don took the stage and introduced their proud farther watching from the side. The sons delivered a heartfelt intro long on admiration and respect. What struck me was while these thirtysomething sons were exiting the stage, one could just barely hear their dad over the applause say to each one "thanks sweetie" as they reached out their hands in acknowledgement.

They're great kids that love and admire their dad.

That’s dumb even for you. People refer to themselves in the first person when they’re talking about themselves. The whole point of the interview was to get to know Melania - not Trump. Who came across as one hell of a broad.

How does the author know what Trump’s children are really like? We have no idea, from what we see on television or in magazines, what people are really like, what their relationships are like, and so on.

Last night, I was reading a book that was published last year, and the author mentioned Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner as an example of a great Hollywood marriage ... making it work just like real people. Overtaken by events, hon: now they’re divorced and the story is that they were having trouble for years.

What the rich, powerful, and well-known show the public is as carefully scripted and photographed as any Hollywood movie. There are real people underneath, but the peons are never going to know them.

So, MM, do I take that as a compliment, “that’s dumb even for you.”?

Call it what you want, Melania and I would say the other two wives were the hands on parents, which is not a negative, just an observation, which is what this thread is about. Geesh, how could he raise his kids and build the world at the same time?
I
