The populated areas have polls open later.

If Cruz has a big day, so be it. But Cruz supporters looking to gloat might want to wait until all the chickens hatch before setting themselves up for a possible let-down.

Outside of Texas and Oklahoma, Cruz has done well in the caucus states where the least people are voting. Trump brings out the number, not Cruz.

Who's going to be excited to vote for Cruz in November other than the small base of heavily Christian voters?

Yep, every single bit of that RECORD turnout we are seeing in the primaries goes straight out the window if Left Cuban is the nominee.

In before allegation of Ted Cruz cheating & stealing votes.

ROTFL! Closed primaries steal votes from The Donald.

Kansas, Kentucky and Maine are not voting primaries... they are caucuses.

OK - your point being ... ?

Question for everybody: Does anybody, no matter whom your candidate is, really think the GOP would not engage in voter fraud to get their candidate?

My take: The state-level GOP does not have voter fraud developed to the fine art that the Dems have, so my take is no, but not because of will, because of means.

Cruz would be Romney 2.0 in November if he is the nominee.

Civil, yes.
Looking at the big picture I will be very happy to know Rubio is done and our choices come down to two men who would both ‘move the needle’ in a more sane direction.
I will vote for who gets the nomination, be it Cruz or Trump.
Is either perfect?
No.
But they are the best two we could hope for, IMHO.

Trump is Romney 2.0 with his ink-still-wet "conservatism."

There are a lot of liberals in Maine, so be prepared.

GOPe is having a happy Saturday too.

Landslide win for Hillary and curtains for America. Which was the plan all along folks.

He wouldn’t even be that. The media showed exactly how they plan to deal with Ted Cruz in the first few debates. They will simply ignore him.

Hillary will dodge debates like the plague, the media will cover for her on it and on election day 9 out 10 people on the street wouldn’t be able to name her opponent.

Cruz and Hillary are owned by Wall Street. That's all you need to know about a future presidency under either candidate.

Cruz doesn’t even appeal to me.

He did in the beginning. Not anymore. I’m not planning on sitting out this election but I really am not enthused about Cruz at all.

Yes, we need whoever can beat Hilary. Despite Mitt Romney’s work to thwart a Hillary presidency!

Its clear that Cruz wins the Caucus’s but loses the open voting. The Donald does best when the election is open. That way independents and democrats can vote for a republican. But he still wins if the vote is closed to just registered republicans, just not by as much.

However one thing is clear, as the field gets smaller, Rubio is not picking up disenfranchised votes. They are going to Cruz mostly but The Donald and Kasich are also getting some of that vote as well.

The Maine Caucus is a closed caucus-only registered Republicans can vote.

Being shot by someone on your team is a bit rough! Romney is a despicable human being.

I think the right person can work Hillary over pretty well.

Precisely. As good as he may be, Cruz doesn't have the chops to deal with the media machine. His early campaign proved that.

One-third of the voters in Maine are independents, who did not vote today unless they re-registered at the caucus site today as a Republican.
