Former House Majority Leader Tom Delay told Cavuto the GOP voters need to understand that the delegates pick the nominee.
Tom Delay: Its not stealing the nomination. Its the process. People need to realize that this is not an election of a president. This is the nomination of a candidate. And theres a process and theres rules and everybody has a fair shot at those rules. But in the end, the representatives, the delegates make the decision at the convention one way or another. And if no candidate gets to the convention with the majority of the votes then the delegates, duly elected to represent the people who have voted, get to decide. Its not stealing anything.

Tom Delay needs to understand that any effort to thwart the will of the people and deny us our nominee will result in a third party forming to elect Trump in Nov. The elitist pukes can shove it up their ass.
Premeditated theft is not against the rules, so you can’t call it stealing. They can’t believe everyone is reacting so violently over their open opposition and promise to “stop Trump”.
I guess they will ultimately call it the “will of the voters”, since people voted and all, and obviously their votes were not really for a candidate, but rather a delegation to figure out who ought to be the nominee.
So brilliant of them to be using Tom Delay to get out there and set the lexicon for us. I am already feeling better about things now, at least they won’t be trying to “steal” the nomination, but rather they will be trying to impose their candidate because they can and they know what is best, all according to the rules.
The message: No smoke filled back rooms, we are declaring openly what we are going to do before we do it.
I think part of this is to suppress the vote for Trump, to get people feeling that there is no way Trump is going to be allowed to be the nominee, so why even go vote. They don’t realize how that is actually working in reverse because they just don’t get it yet.
People would have had to have read the constitution to know that.....
Good luck with that... lol
The personal attacks of a stalwart conservative who paid a high price for defying the liberals who is being denigrated by a bunch of idiots for simply stating a fact that the idiots should already know.
I know he is technically correct, not necessarily morally correct.
Delay is absolutely correct. If you get your wish for a brokered convention let us know how that works out for you Timmy.
HEAR! HEAR! WELL SAID!!
Enjoy it while you can.
Before too long you’re going to be right there with The John Birch Society.
Then, why all the ignorant comments?
And lots of folks swore Trump would win Iowa and they were wrong too....
We ALL speculate here all the time... get over yourself.
No, this should encourage the Trump voters to go and vote. If he gets 50% then he gets the nomination no questions asked.
Trump supporters needs to stop whining and go out there and try to get their man to 50%.
If I were a Trump supporter that’s what I’d do, instead of worrying about it being “stolen”.
You almost sound like you don’t really think Trump can get to 50%, and want to pre-emptively argue that he should get the nomination even if he falls short because he has the plurality.
OK, I was hoping you would correct or at least learn from your mistake, but apparently not.
First off, Tom Delay, as noted in the first line of the article (and the second of your response) was a member of the House of Representatives, not the Senate.
Second, he was indicted by a corrupt Democrat AG in Austin who took it to two grand juries because the charges were so weak, the first wouldn't recommend an indictment. As an honorable man, he resigned from the House of Representatives to defend himself.
What was the result of the charges?
You are assuming that people being angry that the elite want a brokered convention arises from an ignorance of the rules. We know that the delegates choose the nominee. We don’t like that the party elite want the delegates to choose a candidate other than the popular front-runner, something that hasn’t happened in quite some time, if ever.
They’re not “ignorant.”
They’re an ultimatum.
Read the comments. They do not support your thesis.
Also, I personally saw to it that every member of my extended family got to the polls and voted. 100%. I've done my voting part until November now.
If you can’t read and comprehend what it is that is being posted, maybe you should go back to school and learn the three R’s....
Your problem, not mine!!!
Could be a lot of people in here think YOUR comments are ignorant...
