Welcome again...the last list expired in Feb.
I’ll be honest, been very busy and not posting as much at least here on this thread. I have a tough time hearing the show due to my job and occasionally catch up via podcasts.
This list has been valuable in some ways including keeping fans alerted to Howie’s affiliate situation (especially when he started his own network in the fall of 2015, then months later went back to WRKO).
I’ve mentioned http://www.howiecarrshowfans.com which has a messageboard and other info. Sadly in the last day or so a spammer has made mincemeat of the board, posting hundreds of unwanted posts about pharmaceuticals etc. The guy running the board is nicknamed rocket21 and I tried to send him a private message about it...if anyone knows him or is him, I hope it gets fixed soon.

Jerry had on Howie and Barbara on Tue afternoons (theme: theme from Mod Squad). Later Bob Katzen was a part of “the unholy three”. The “governors” nickname came from someone who wondered, do they think they run the state or something?
Barbara, a transplanted Pennsylvanian, also wrote for the Salem News.

Wow, Mark Parenteau dead. I practically grew up with the guy as he was a fixture of Boston rock radio - during a time when radio was a teenagers only way of finding out what was happening in the world relative to music. This was a time when we had no internet, no cell phones and a TV with maybe five or six stations showing mostly re-runs and crap. Even a copy of Rolling Stone was about a month behind by the time it hit the racks at the drugstore.
It’s a shame he got mixed up in that pedophilia crap and I tuned him out from that point on - he went to jail I believe. But I’ll always have the memories of hearing him on the airwaves while growing up and driving to work as a young adult.

I know I did it for awhile but I decided to finally end the Howie Carr ping list. There are many places to get info about the Howie Carr show, etc., now and I urge you to check these out. One less thing to take up my time (and I don’t believe I saved the list names)...
