Donald Trump spent five years building a mutually beneficial relationship with the organization that hosts the annual Conservative Political Action Conference, filling its coffers with at least $150,000 in cash and scoring coveted speaking slots that started him on a course towards winning the Republican presidential nomination.
But he ended up canceling what would have been his biggest CPAC speech at the last minute amid plans for protest and disruptions, apparently deciding that his surging presidential campaign no longer needed any boost from the once-storied group.

You're a political naif, who doesn't belong here at all. Your pathetically stupid posts makes FR look shameful.
How come your boy Ted didn’t answer the question ?
Spot on !
“LaSalvia co-founded a conservative gay rights group called GOProud that had participated in CPAC...”
Sounds like Trump is NO IDIOT then, for not going.

VOTE TRUMP!
Trump skipped CPAC because he was told he would have to answer questions from the crowd.
Do you have a link for that? Or, is it straight out of your posterior file?
You do realize, btw, that if it weren’t for Trump, your fibbing candidate would be getting his, er, numbers wiped.....by Jeb. LOL.
The Trump bashers have a narrative to pursue.
"If he can't stand up to Megyn Kelly, why, how is he going to stand up to Putin?"
It's a specious, ridiculous comparison that borders on Alinskism. Trump is one of the most brilliant business negotiators in modern American history. Why would he let the opposition set the agenda and narrative?
I don’t know.
But I do know that it is a state issue not a presidential issue so his answer either way would have meant nothing.
Of course! HAHAHAH you are a big ol phony.
He's far braver than YOU will ever be.
Correct. They have already told Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer that they are persona non grata.
Screw Grover Norquist & CPAC.
Mr. niteowl77
Last night on the debate, Ted Cruz was asked did he believe in gay adoption.
He declined to answer.
That question was a booger, for cRuze.
He is certifiable and has been costing Ted votes, since Ted brought him in.
Yes, obviously that’s ALL they are programmed to do.
He should have chewed on it some more. And spit out the answer :)
I’m more concerned about him being in bed with the Russians. Comes with his own honeytrap.
That...is too funny!!!
Newt Gingrich: Donald Trump Right To Skip CPAC (’the votes are in Kansas, not Washington’)

Former Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) on Friday praised Donald Trump for his last-minute decision to skip the annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). CPAC organizers announced Friday that the GOP presidential front-runner had dropped out of his commitment to speak at the conference on Saturday morning.
The real estate mogul’s campaign issued a statement shortly after saying he would instead be campaigning in Kansas and Florida.
Because of this, he will not be able to speak at CPAC as he has done for many consecutive years, the statement read. Mr. Trump would like to thank Matt Schlapp and all of the executives at CPAC and looks forward to returning to next year, hopefully as President of the United States. Trump has been heavily criticized by many Republicans, and some speakers at the gathering took the opportunity take shots at the front-runner.
